Encounter God | Change the World

Vision Statement
Building foundations for the next generation in the living Word and the written Word.

At YWAM Maui our goal is to train and send out men and women of God who walk in the Truth of the Word and the power of the Spirit, who are impassioned to disciple nations through all spheres of society, and who are equipped with the tools necessary to impact the world for the Kingdom of God.

Mission Statement

Youth With a Mission Maui is a missions training center[1] committed to fulfilling the Great Commission[2] by equipping and mobilizing young people in biblically based discipleship[3], and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ[4] primarily throughout Asia. We do this through; Training schools[5], Outreaches, and Serving local churches & ministries[6].

1. YWAM Maui was planted here due to its strategic location as a stepping stone to Asia and the Pacific. As such, our primary focus is to train and send missionaries to these areas.
2. Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8 – The Great commission goes beyond conversion of sinners, to making disciples at home and abroad of both individuals and nations.
3. Ephesians 4:11-16; II Timothy 3:16-17– Training individuals toward Godly character, maturity & integrity by imitating the life of Jesus and by applying biblical truth to all of life.
4. John 14:6-19; John 1:1; John 3:16 – We affirm that Jesus is the second person of the Trinity and we appeal to His deity and death on the cross as the only appropriate sacrifice to save mankind. Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, His righteousness is attributed to sinners when they trust in Him.
5. 2 Peter 1:5-8 – Our goal in training is to see people develop character, knowledge and skills, so they can be effective and productive in their calling.
6. Ephesians 3:7-12 – Throughout history God has anointed two streams of ministry: the local (like the priests of old), and the mobile (like the prophets). As YWAM, we operate under God’s mobile anointing, but work closely with those working under the local anointing in any given area. God calls his whole church, both local and mobile, to labor together in fulfilling the Great Commission.

As Billy Graham has said, “The whole church needs to take the whole gospel to the whole world.”

Foundational Values

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) affirms the Bible as the authoritative word of God and, with the Holy Spirit’s inspiration, the absolute reference point for every aspect of life & ministry. Based upon God’s Word, who He is, & His initiative of salvation, through the atoning work of Jesus (His death, burial & resurrection), the following responses are strongly emphasized in YWAM:

  1. Worship: We are called to praise & worship God alone.
  2. Holiness: We are called to lead holy and righteous lives that exemplify the nature & character of God.
  3. Witness: We are called to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him.
  4. Prayer: We are called to engage in intercessory prayer for the people & causes on God’s heart, including standing against evil in every form.
  5. Fellowship: We are called to commit to the Church in both its local nurturing expression & its mobile multiplying expression.
