Due to the United States Government releasing a State of Emergency regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, as YWAM Maui we are taking the appropriate measures and responses to this current situation. Our priority is the safety and health of our students and staff. We have put together a team that is constantly monitoring the situation as well as working with the leadership team to make decisions and adjustments as the situation unfolds.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation under the guidance of the CDC, WHO and Hawaii State department of health and will be making the necessary decisions as they present themselves.
As of Monday, March 16th we made the decision to cancel the outreach portion of the 2020 Winter DTS. We have also decided to start sending our current students home as soon as possible. We recognize this is a time for families to be together and we want to honor that.
While there is no reported case among our staff or students, we have taken necessary precautions and have implemented certain procedures regarding food safety procedures, sanitation and limiting the size of gathers in accordance to the CDC & WHO guidelines. We want to protect our O’hana and community as much as possible and will be continuing to make further adjustments as the COVID-19 situation progresses.
Please check back for further updates. May we continue to trust in Jesus, the Prince of Peace, in these chaotic times.
